Our Story

2022

• Unifree, operating Duty Free stores at Kosovo Pristina Adem Jashari Airport since 2012, extended its contracts for 10 years.
• Duty Free stores at Istanbul Airport started to serve again with 33 stores after the impact of the Pandemic.

2019

• Phase 2 of Duty Free stores at Istanbul Airport was opened.

2018

• The first Duty Free store in Istanbul Airport was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 29.
• Our Türkiye Departures Duty Free store was opened at Dereköy Border Gate.
• Our arrival and departure stores were opened at Dalaman International Airport New Terminal.

2015

• Unifree received the highest scores in the three-stage tender and obtained the Duty Free rights of Istanbul Airport for 25 years.
• The arrival and departure stores at Milas - Bodrum Airport New Terminal, operated by Unifree as of 2012, were transferred to ATU on 22 October 2015.

2012

• Our arrival and departure stores were opened at Bodrum-Milas International Airport New Terminal.
• Our departure duty-free store was opened at Kosovo Pristina International Airport.
• Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ercan Airport departure Duty Free store closed on 31.12.2012.

2009

• Our stores at Milas-Bodrum Airport were closed on 31.12.2009.

2006

• Our arrival and departure stores were opened at Dalaman International Airport Terminal.

2005

• Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ercan Airport departure Duty Free store was opened.

2003

• Unifree Duty Free became the first in the retail industry to obtain ISO 9001:2000 certification

2001

• Our arrival and departure stores were opened at Milas Bodrum Airport.

1999

• Gebr. Heinemann KG. became a partner of Unifree. ATU was established with the partnership of UNIFREE DUTY FREE- TAV

1985

• Our Dereköy Border Gate Arrival Duty Free Store was opened.

1975

• Unifree Duty Free was founded by Üstünkaya and Bilginer families.
